Pend orielles boathouse

This Japanese and mid-century inspired stilt bouse was designed as a complementary guest house companion to another ground-up residence and is actually a “tear-down renovation” of an existing dilapidated structure. To maintain the “grandfathered-in” status of the original boathouse, the old structure was dismantled down to the steel piers with the new structure rising off of those in the exact footprint of the original. This boathouse blends a rugged industrial feel with modern lines to create a refined river getaway. The exterior cedar was harvested and manufactured within 50 miles of the site.
