AMPY MOVE - Kinetic Motion CHarger

Chicago, IL _ Stryde Technologies LLC.

The AMPY MOVE is a kinetic motion charger which captures energy from your movement throughout the day and stores it in a battery that you can use to charge up your devices. Designed to ergonomically fit the human form, the device seamlessly integrates into athletic activities by using the sport accessories (sportband and hip-clip) or simply charge passively in a pocket or bag. The internal energy harvesting inductors were designed on our in house 3D printer rapid prototyping equipment and utilize aircraft grade low friction materials.

The MOVE was developed from 2013-2015 when I worked as the Director of Design for the chicago-based consumer electronics tech start-up, Ampy. The MOVE was initially funded through a $300,000 kickstarter campaign which helped launch the product and the brand, but the company would later raise over $1 million in investment capital that year. allowing for further expansion into other sectors such as: smart garments, fitness trackers, and remote sensors.
